Ketzler's Schnitzel Haus and Biergarten

Waited almost an hour for service then at the end of our visit the waitress made a comment saying "next time on the salad ask for no tomatoes it's easier for everyone" to my girl. She ate the tomatoes there was just a good few left... It was uncalled for. Food was great, however and prices on scale.

Live music and very good German food! This was quite surprising. I've been around Granbury for nearly 40 years and this honestly may have been one of the best meals I've had there- and I had no expectations going in. The warm potato salad was excellent and the jagerschnitzel was very well done. It's a little pricey, but worth it!

Best German food I've had. The sampler plate was enough for 2 and everything tasted delicious. Decor was tasteful, comfortable and authentic. Service was great. I'll definitely be going again.

I love a German restaurant with a beer garden. This place is on the historic town square across from Hood County Courthouse. The staff was very good and helpful. I had the Weiner Schnitzel with their sauerkraut and spatzle. And of course an Oktoberfest beer. They also serve you a pumpernickel roll. Very beautiful. I hope to return to enjoy the beer garden when it's not cold!

Good food. The Biergarten was great while the weather was nice. Friendly and attentive staff. Live music Friday's Saturdays.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Wonderful German beer and wine also. Brought back great memories! Cade’s liquid strudel cocktail creation is delicious. As was the real strudel, sausage, sauerkraut and schnitzel. Thoroughly enjoyed Karen on the accordion with German and other music; she also has a great voice. Could have spent the whole afternoon there! Would be our favorite hangout if we lived here; we will be back. Highly recommend!

Drove 20 minutes to Granbury from Glen Rose just for this place. Loved it! Worth the drive. Great food and atmosphere.

The atmosphere is charming in this cute, little restaurant. There is an enclosed patio area outside with lights in the trees, picnic tables, and heaters. I had one of their soft gigantic pretzels! So good! Met the owners, too. A sweet couple from Germany. I will be back soon!

Pros: the food was goodCons: the prices $14 for a Philly. The tables are so close together you are practically sitting with the person next to you, the accordian lady played the entire time, HOT HOT HOT inside and it was only 70 degrees outside, I could not imagine how unbearable it would be there in the summer.

Great Reubens, and sauerkraut. Get the sausage platter and the Heff!

Always amazing. Authentic German cuisine in a great environment that makes you feel like you're home. Come here almost every time we're in town.

What a fun place on the Granbury square. We never miss a trip to Ketzler's when were are in Granbury. Food is good and the German beer is cold. Great Bier Garten in the back.

Service was good. Food was delicious and reminded me of my younger days being in Germany. They had warm mulled wine at the door witch was also hit the way back machine for me. Will definitely be back!!!!

The food was outstanding! Had the pretzel, spicy chicken sausage, red cabbage, and sauerkraut. Simply delicious! The beer selection is superb if you have a palette for German fare, which I most certainly do!A very nice place. Terrific atmosphere with great staff and superb service. Highly recommend stopping in if you ever have the opportunity.

Delicious sausages, beer that goes down to quickly and live polka via Karen and her accordian. There is no better place to have Sunday brunch lunch or dinner. The entrees are perfectly German and all its splinder. This restaurant is worm with an 18th century tavern look. I just love this place.

Wow, we really loved this place! What a great spot to stop by on an impromptu Valentine's day date. We didn't have reservations, so we thought it best to eat at the bar instead of making them try to find us a table. We didn't regret that decision one bit! The bartender mixed up some solid cocktails for us and I enjoyed more than a few beers. We started with the sausage sampler plate and really loved all that they had to offer. The sauerkraut was some of the best I've ever had, hands down! I had Omas meatballs and they were to die for!

Great German food within striking distance from home. Granbury is a nice town to stop when riding to the Texas hill country. The schnitzel was very good and the beer choices excellent. But get there early because some of the best menu items sell out

I eat in this spot a lot since I work close by. I have to say their customer service is always great and they keep the spot well kept all the time. Pricing is convenient and they serve large portions.

Server was a sweetheart! I had the chicken snitzchel which was awesome! Very good cosmo martinis as well

My favorite menu from Ketzler's is grilled cheese with fries and I like their sweet tea, sweet tea is my favorite drinks I like, so I went with my mom, my dad, and my sister, like sometimes my uncle, I like this German restaurant, so I would go back like in the summer walking around in Granbury in the square, so that is the best restaurant I ever wentThanks,Andrea Brown

I’m not even sure if there are words to describe how good this place was. We just wanted to keep eating even though we were full. To top it off the entertainer was playing Crazy by Patsy Cline on the accordion. What more do you want? Make a reservation if you can is my only advice beyond Prost! and enjoy.

This is a first rate German restaurant. My family and I went when the town was having an Octoberfest event, but despite the restaurant being very busy the service was excellent. Be sure to try the sauerkraut. It's quite good. My only disappointment was there was no brotchen.

My girlfriend and I visited Granbury for a little two day getaway and stumbled upon this little gem. We are both food snobs and I kid you not when I say it was one of the best meals I ever had. Chef Angelika has brought a wonderful little slice of her German culture to The Granbury Sq. From the meatballs and spaeztle to the sausage sampler, a cheese steak that could put Philly to shame. To the strudel, every bite and aspect of the meal was awesome. And our server Elizabeth was super sweet and attentive. Oh yeah and the spicy bloody Mary’s were perfect.

My friend and I went here and it was alright food, but definitely not worth $20! We shared a plate, and on the menu it said $4 for an extra plate, well we didn’t order one yet still got charged for it!! When I asked about the price I got told it goes up when you share, that would have been nice to know. The waitress was kinda rude and rushed us out as well. Bummed us out and kinda ruined our afternoon honestly.

I usually don’t post bad reviews but, I have been wanting to try this place for YEARS. And finally did today. I was so excited.I kind of felt like a bother to the waitress because I didn’t know what a lot was on the menu and I took a little while to make a decision. I didn’t know if I would like the food or not so I got a plate to share with my friend. It did say on the menu that if you ask for another plate, they charge $4 more dollars. I didn’t ask for one. We used the same plate. Maybe they should be a little more specific with their wording? There’s a lot of great reviews posted for this place. Maybe it was just a bad day. Or maybe broke college kids shouldn’t come here. 😂 I don’t know.

This place is actually quite a gem. The atmosphere is quaint and the live German music adds to it's charm. Our server was amazing, she was super helpful and nice. She recommended the pork shank plate and it was great. The meat was tender the sauce was not too powerful. Definitely must try if you are in the area.

First time. Waitress Hannah extremely helpful with selections. Food: tasty, plentiful. Beer: dark and delicious.

Started off rough. They were having wait staff issues, and it took forever to get our drinks and order taken. What I think were the owners stepped up and started serving. It completely made up for it! Great food, and very nice people.
